Qualifications:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related field.
- Previous work experience in an administrative services role is preferred.
- Previous work experience related to public policy is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze, compile and condense information.
- Comfortable working with members, legislators/legislative staff, and agency officials.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulatory and legislative processes preferred.
- Ability to operate a personal computer proficiently.
- A willingness and availability for occasional evening and overnight travel.

Summary:
|
Works with the legislative team at Missouri Farm Bureau (MOFB) by assisting with policy development, regulatory advocacy and lobbying activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Performs administrative duties including taking meeting minutes, sending correspondence, handling phone inquiries, keeping itineraries, processing expense vouchers, etc.
- Conducts research and helps prepare testimony to be delivered at legislative committee hearings and regulatory agency hearings/meetings.
- Assists in the formulation of comment letters to regulatory agencies.
- Organizes policy development process including corresponding with the State Resolutions Committee members and annually updating the MOFB policy book.
- Coordinates weekly member visits to the capitol during state legislative session.
- Assists with legislative and regulatory tracking and prepares status reports on bills/rulemakings being monitored.
- Corresponds with American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) and MOFB staff as needed.
- Coordinates various activities and travel arrangements, along with organizing meetings and meal functions.
- Coordinates Missouri Ethics Commission (MEC) and Federal Ethics Commission (FEC) lobbying reports, tracks lobbying activities and contributions for filing quarterly and semi-annual disclosure reports.
- Assists with legislative action alerts in coordination with the legislative team.
- Assists with planning and overseeing the annual legislative trip to Washington D.C.
- Provides excellent customer service to all external and internal customers and maintains a good working relationship with field and home office personnel.
- Assists members as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
